When a Man loves a Woman

Kiss 2

When a man loves a woman
She is a masterful snake charmer
Rolling her eyes, hypnotizing something superficial
Yet deep, while drugging man
With a dose of eternity

When a man loves a woman
She is an alien in a spacecraft
Flying your body to unknown orbitals
You haven’t been before, getting lost hitchhiking
To what prickles and expands
– Her body you’ve borrowed with a gold ring…

When a man loves a woman
She is the eternity-drugged nomad whisperer
Taming the frontier-less bohemian spirit
When you start to discover anchors
You’ve never had before

When a man loves a woman
She holds a lasso and a whip
And you’re the creature
That lives in her barn and stable
Feeding on love-crumbs
From her manger’s top

When a man loves a woman
Her body is brittle porcelain, her heart china clay
And her eyes sheer obsidian
Broken, sculpted and mirrored
Of what she holds for you
A love for all seasons

When a man loves a woman
Love is piggy-backing on her heart
Love-making is doggy-compassed
And baby-making is playing roulette
Inside her little casino

When a man loves a woman
She will the sole illogical reason
Why you have mosquitoes inside your ears
A bumble bee in your pants
Butterflies inside your tummy
And an elephant in your heart
